On February 28th, two artist from kri8mor, Kristina Moraru and Galina Nikita, participated in the York Region Arts Council Artists Circle. This event provided a unique opportunity for artists in the community to connect with one another, share their work, and receive feedback and support.

Galina Nikita is a painter who is inspired by the impressionist style and explores the beauty of nature. Impressionism is a movement that focuses on capturing the fleeting, ever-changing effects of light and color, and Galina’s paintings seem to reflect this emphasis on capturing the essence of the natural world. Her work mostly features landscapes, seascapes, or flowers, and she uses loose brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette to create a sense of movement and energy in her compositions. Overall, Galina Nikita’s paintings appear to be a celebration of nature’s beauty and the joy that can be found in the act of painting itself. During the Artists Circle, Galina shared two pieces of work, “Sunday” and “The Milky Way”, which showcased her skillful use of texture, color, and composition.

Kristina Moraru, on the other hand, is a photographer who focuses on capturing the beauty of the natural world. Her photographs often feature landscapes, Lake Simcoe and people, and she has a particular talent for capturing the unique details and textures of her subjects. During the Artists Circle, Kristina shared the award winning photograph “First Snow”.

Overall, the York Region Arts Council Artists Circle was a wonderful opportunity for local artists to come together and share their work. As the arts continue to thrive in York Region, it is events like these that will help to foster a supportive and vibrant artistic community.

You can visit “The Studios” at Assembly Park, 80 Interchange Way, Vaughan, to view the exhibited pieces. The exhibit will remain on display during March 1st, March 3rd, March 6th, and March 7th, 10am-2pm.
